The theme is "House and Home". We had to include both of those and put them together in one piece. I chose this cementery. I've spent some time there, and it's a pretty cool and quiet place to be.

You might be thinking, "Why do you hang out in cementeries? Freak." By that point, you've already answered your own question.

There's an actual story behind this piece, it's kinda long, but you are welcome to read it :/

I was to make finish this illustration, which is due today at 6 pm EST, US time. I had this assignment since Thursday, and I was well underway, but I didnt do jack on the weekend, so I had sunday night and monday all day to finish.

Problem is, as I was working on it and close to finishing, I deleated a color layer, the most important one btw, by mistake. Now, I always tell people to save their work every 5 minutes. You never know what will happen. Should've listen to myself more often.

The program froze on me, I ended up loosing almost all my progress. I wanted to literally cry. this is around 1:45 am. So what do I do? I rushed it. Rushed it as best as I could. I limited myself on putting most work in certain areas, so it stands up at least just a bit.

As of now, I just finished my worst piece of artwork. I like some things here and there, but overall, it's pretty bad and rushed. I gave up my morning class for this. Probably my Art History too, since that class is so boring I'll probably fall asleep throughout the whole class time.

That's happened to me a few times (or something simaler). I'm in the middle of coloring something and I think I've done a great job on parts of it then Photoshop freezes. This hasn't happened in months mind you.

Macs dont' freeze. :]
LOL I remember doing that. I spent days writing the final massive chapter of a fanfic in MSword... yes I kept saving it but I wanted to use the template for the Epilogue so I deleted all the writing for that chapter and started the Epilogue... by this time I had a nervous twitch of pressing 'ctrl + S' (Quicksave) well... there is no 'do you want to overwrite?' function in quicksave... days and days of typing the final massive battle scene of a 4yrs-in-the-making fanfic...gone... I DID cry!

But we all gotta get back on the horse and I had a lot of people getting really cranky with me taking so long... so I managed to knuckle down and re-do it from memory, probably not as good though, nothing is like the original.

And freezing computers?? I spend 9hrs a day on them for work and I can assure you, having it freeze up and resetting them at leasy 7 times a day is nothing out of the ordinary. (Especially in program development!) Which has made me switch to MAC. (I'll be getting a new macbook in a few weeks! ^^) So at least I can play with something different at home, sadly i'm still stuck with PCs at work. Although... I've never really used MAC OS, I'm a 100% windows gal, so this is going to be VERY interesting!

Oh! The picture! Yes it's a very nice piece of work. I'm not very good at the soft airbrush look... the colours and textures really make it stand out. And there is nothing wrong with hanging out with dead people. At least they won't annoy you! And since it's a graveyard, not even the living will bother you either!
yeah i didn't read your HUGE explanation coz im running late but that is GREAT good job

thanks for the comment, and actually reading the story =P

I can imagine your pain. I dont use Macs though. I'm also a PC guy. I dont know why, I just cant get used to them. They are flashy and eye candy, but meh.

Like the guy above (or below) said, Macs dont freeze...thats an advantage >_>
Yea they are very stable in that way. They also don't get viruses... a mega bonus since most of the ones here at work are riddled with them!! (But my boss doesn't do much about it, go figure!) So i'll be using my PC laptop strictly for work now, and my MAC is strictly for home. That way if my poor PC does fall prey to those horrid things, all my stuff can be backed up on the MAC where it can't be harmed :D

Although, I don't get much of a choice with MACs. Sadly a lot of job opportunities have fallen through for me in the graphic design indistry because I can't use a MAC. (or don't know how.) MAC is the industry standard for graphics-orientated and government jobs! So as tough as it's gonna be i'm gonna have to that that leap into something... different.
